Our Perfect Weather’s Back And Off To Sherman’s

It was terrific to wake up Saturday morning, peek out the window beside our bed, look at the Palm Trees and see that they were completely still.  A quick check of the Oleander hedges confirmed it – the winds had stopped.  That was good news and it got even better when I got dressed and walked outside – it was nice and warm even though it was only 7am.  Our perfect weather was back!  Yippee!

Paulette was thrilled to find a wooden frame she’s been after for 2 yearsIMG_2211

Paulette, Sandy and Jennifer left the RV Park at 8am for a morning of garage sale shopping in Palm Springs.  That left us guys with nothing else to do yesterday morning but go and play golf here at the Sands.  We managed to get an 11am tee time even though the course was pretty busy.  I guess a lot of golfers were going through withdrawal symptoms after taking a few days off because of the high winds.  It was picture perfect yesterday though and we managed to finish our 9 holes before 1pm.

Just getting ready to start dinner at Sherman’s Deli last nightIMG_2210

We weren’t back from the golf course long when the GS’ers returned with all their loot.  Paulette was absolutely thrilled with a picture frame she picked up for just $3.  She said she’d been looking for an 18” x 18” wood frame for over 2 years to put some kind of quilt in – no surprise there, I guess.  Anyway, for just $2, who cares and it doesn’t take up much room.

Sherman’s was a busy as it always seems to beIMG_2209

It was pretty hot by the afternoon so I hopped on our bike and rode up to the pool for a swim.  A lot of other folks had the same idea as everyone was back outside enjoying the great day.  After that, it was back to our rig to find some shade for a nice little afternoon siesta.

Yes, we did sample some of these great looking dessertsIMG_2208

Our newly arrived friends, Trent and Teresa, had been to the College of the Desert Street Fair in the morning and then did some sight seeing in the afternoon returning to the Sands around 4pm.  The next thing we know we were making arrangements to go for dinner at Sherman’s one of our favourite restaurants in Palm Springs.  It’s safe to say that Trent and Teresa have Sherman’s at the top of their list now too.  It was a great way to end a near perfect day!

Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting!

  11. Glad the calm weather is back and you got a game of golf in along with a good swim, the siesta sounded like a good way to top all those activities off with. As always Sherman's looked great. Need to make sure we go there before we make the big move north. Have a GREAT Sunday!

  12. Those desserts look yummy. But I am so often disappointed as the ones that look the best are really not that great tasting. Hoping in your case they taste as good as they look.

    Happy Sunday!

  13. You might want to tell Paulette that the dirtiest, germ filled area in a restaurant is the floor. Not a great idea to put your purse on the floor then carry into your home and place on furniture, on counter, table etc. Just for what it's worth.
