Quilt Show And Craft Exhibit Day At The Sands

Tuesday was a big day for Paulette and her quilting friends as it was the 2nd Annual Quilt and Craft Show here at the Sands RV Resort.  It was a day for all of the quilters to showcase all of the quilts that they’ve been working on every Wednesday.  Paulette was right in the middle of it, from helping with the setup at 10am to attending the show from 1-4pm and then the clean-up detail.

Quilting wasn’t the only craft on display in the North Hall yesterday.  There were Beaders, including our friend Sandy, and quite a few talented artists displaying their paintings.

It just goes to show there are all kinds of ways to while a way the time while snowbirding.  Some folks do a lot of hiking, others mostly golf, a lot of folks just read while many just like to hang around the pool.  It all works as long as it makes you happy!

I just took it easy yesterday even passing up on a chance to go golfing in the afternoon.  Instead, I just hung around with Molly and Rylie and read my latest book.  It was a perfect day for finding a bit of shade outside and just relaxing.

Most of these quilts are ones that Paulette has made here at the SandsjustIMG_2026

Looks like we’re in for a real heat wave here.  The forecast for the next few days is calling for sunny skies with temperatures of 85F.  What I’ve noticed while here is that those high temps are always a bit underestimated.  I guess our A/C will be getting a workout here during the afternoons.  At least it cools down to the mid-50’s at night so it’s great for sleeping.

Tuesday was another beautiful day with many more to comeIMG_2033

Have a great Wednesday, and thanks again for visiting!

  3. Paulette sure made some beautiful quilts. Yes, snowbirds can find all sorts of fun things to keep them busy...and there's always the opportunity to just "take the day off" and enjoy some quiet, peaceful time. Retirement is wonderful.

  4. I love the snowmen theme. What does she do with all of them?
What a great idea for a craft exhibit show. We have several groups here at the park that do crafts also. I think I will suggest something like this. What fun for all.

  17. Paulette has done a wonderful job on the quilts, she must have not slept in days to get them all done so quickly...LOL

The desert is blooming and temps are increasing up to 80 this week, so finding a shady area and kicking back with a good book = a wonderful day! Stay cool...
