A Pretty Busy Day For A Saturday

We didn’t set out on Saturday morning to go to any garage sales in the area but we did have to drive into Palm Springs to return something Paulette had bought the day before – and, guess what we ran into?  A sign for an estate sale and, of course, we just had to go and check that out because it was in the high-rent district up on the hill beyond Palm Canyon Drive.

This was the home where the estate sale was being heldIMG_1997

We followed the signs and soon were on a road going by some pretty incredible looking homes and properties.  As we got higher up the mountain, things thinned out a bit and we soon came to the estate sale property.  It sure looked like the kind of place where there would be nothing for sale that we could afford.  But, Paulette did go in and managed to find a nice little wicker type suitcase for $5.  I’ve always said we needed a little wicker suitcase!

This guy either had too much money or not enough!IMG_1996

Right below the estate sale home, we saw a every weird looking house that was all white and looked like some kind of space ship.  It was obviously somebody’s home and it was very unique.  I’d never encountered a house that looked like this before.  If I get a chance, I’ll have to do some research and find out more about this place.

This guy sure didn’t like us walking by so close to his propertyIMG_2003

This guard dog didn’t care too much for Molly and Rylie walking by his property while Paulette was in the estate sale house.  He didn’t bark at all but the glare he gave us was enough to make sure we steered well clear of the gated entrance.  The landing he is standing on ran the entire width of the property which was a good 100 yards or so.  This Boxer watched every step we took.

A loaded Grapefruit Tree in Palm SpringsIMG_2001

One of the great things about Palm Springs is that you never know when you are going to run across trees loaded with grapefruit, oranges, lemons or other types of fruit.  This grapefruit tree was loaded but it was in the yard with the Boxer!  Anyone leaning over to help themselves just might lose a hand – or even an arm.

After golf, we were all invited over to Tom and Jennifer’s for a BBQIMG_2004

We got back to the Sands just around noon, then after lunch I went golfing here with Gary and Tom.  It was another warm day and just perfect for a few hours on the golf course.

Meet Rupert – Tom and Jennifer’s friendly Boxer – ‘bad to the bone’IMG_2010

Tom and Jennifer invited us all over for BBQ’d burgers last night and man, were they ever good.  We told Tom that we’d have to rate his burgers right up there with our favourite place – All Star Burgers.  He wasn’t too thrilled when we told him we’d be over at least 3 nights a week now instead of going to All-Stars!

After it cooled down some, we moved inside for coffee and chatted for a few hours.  We ended up calling it a night just after 8pm and walked a few sites down to our rig and settled in for the night.  For me, that meant writing this post which I am just about to put to bed followed by myself going to bed!  It’s been a long day.

Have a great Sunday, and thanks again for visiting!

  10. You did have a busy, busy day. But how nice it was too!

You are now the proud owner of a wicker suitcase. I'll bet you Paulette could sell it for five or six time value back home during one of the many garage sales you may have to hold to off load all the stuff you'll be bringing home to BC. LOL!

  11. Not much of a garage sale person. Once again that not liking to shop comes into play. Quite the glare you were being given. I certainly wouldn't be arguing with him.
