Our friends and fellow bloggers, Kim and Don (K & D in the RV), are leaving the Sands on Tuesday morning and heading for the Yuma area. They’ve been here for quite a while arriving in mid-November just a few weeks after we got here. On Sunday, we invited Kim and Don to come over for coffee and dessert last night so we could have a visit before they hit the road Tuesday morning.
First, we start with Chocolate Cake![]()
Then, late yesterday afternoon, while Paulette was taking Molly and Rylie for a walk, she ran into our friend Mel. His rig is parked just one site over from Kim and Don’s, so Paulette invited Mel and his wife Deb over as well as they’ve become good neighbours and friends.
Add a little Vanilla Ice Cream (lo-fat of course)![]()
They all arrived together just before 6:30pm and it wasn’t long before we had the coffee brewing. What a great evening of conversation and fun we had. We all shared some great stories of our RV travel experiences as well as interesting and fun things about our stay(s) here in Palm Springs. It was sure a lot of laughs and good times! The Chocolate Cake and Ice Cream that Paulette served up really hit the spot too!
We’re sad to see Kim and Don go as Paulette will be losing a quilting partner and I’ll be losing an occasional golf partner as well. All of us are repeat visitors to the Sands and are reserved again for next year too. So, even though Kim and Don are heading off to Yuma now, we know that we’ll be seeing them again next season.
Rylie is really going to miss Kim too – she was a great ‘treat lady’![]()
It was just before 9pm when everyone decided it was time to call it a night – none of us are night owls anymore that’s for sure. So, thanks again Kim and Don for being such great friends again during your stay here at the Sands and we’ll look forward to meeting up with you again next year!
Have a great Tuesday, and thanks again for visiting!

ReplyDeleteLooks like Rylie is the one who is going to hate to see them go. That chocolate cake looks yummy, I love chocolate cake!
ReplyDeleteIf Paulette baked that cake in her RV oven, she has a better oven than we do...If I baked a cake, it would burn on the bottom, just like my biscuits do :-((
ReplyDeleteYou did have to post TWO pictures of that cake and one with ice cream didn't you? Makes my mouth water. That's a party I wish I could have crashed.
